The Italian Mazzinian Association is a free association that advocates the principles of moral, political and social emancipation supported by Giuseppe Mazzini and the political tradition of republican thought. Founded in 1943 by important personalities of the anti-fascist movement, A.M.I. has always maintained a clear position against fascism and any form of totalitarianism.
Since its foundation, members of the Italian Mazzinian Association have pursued with great continuity and voluntary commitment the goal of educating both women and men of Italy to the culture of democratic participation. In addition to its deep roots in the historical experiences of the Risorgimento and the resistance, the Mazzinian Association has committed itself over the years to the ideal foundation emerging from these moments of freedom in the history of modern Italy.
Our aim is to fulfill them through our periodical, Il Pensiero Mazziniano, of the most stimulating and original contributions on republicanism and on the history of republican movements; as well as through the organization of conferences, seminars and other cultural activities which focus both on the recovery of past experiences, and the discussion of the fundamental trends of political, religious and moral thought of our time.
