On April 8th, according to what was reported by a national newspaper, the Emergency Commissioner Francesco Paolo Figliuolo would have written to the mayors of the small islands accepting their request to proceed with the immunization of all the inhabitants to save the tourist season. An initiative also supported by the Minister of Tourism Garavaglia. The harsh reaction to this proposal arrived by Stefano Bonaccini and Vincenzo De Luca’s choice to proceed with vaccination in order of categories and not by age group which have motivated Figliuolo to go back on his word, clarifying that there will be “no waiver from the vaccination plan”. Governments change, but not the tiring relations between the state and regional presidents, which make the vaccination campaign even more complicated, nor does the very-Italian passion for waivers. Two problems, one is structural and the other one is cultural, for which the country pays the price, yet once again.
